IBM (Injection Blow Molding) is an advanced manufacturing process for plastic bottles, mainly applied to the production of small precision packaging made of materials such as PET and PP.
The process consists of three steps:
1. Injection molding of preforms
Plastic raw materials are injection-molded to form high-precision bottle preforms.
2. Stretching
After being heated, the preform is longitudinally stretched by a stretch rod to enhance material strength.
3. Blow molding
High-pressure air is used to inflate the preform against the mold to form the final bottle body.
As the material undergoes biaxial stretching, bottles manufactured via IBM feature higher transparency, superior mechanical strength and improved dimensional stability.
Within the cosmetics industry, IBM is widely used for essence bottles, perfume bottles, eye cream containers and high-end transparent skincare packaging.
